Why does VPN keep getting installed after I uninstall it?

Why does VPN keep getting installed after I uninstall it? I uninstalled it a few days ago and today I noticed it got installed!!?
I am using another VPN software and service. I don't need BitDefender VPN.
I am using Windows 11.

    Normally, this should not happen. If the VPN app reinstalls itself on its own, I would recommend contacting the Technical Support Teams, as more information might be required to troubleshoot this. You can get in touch with the Bitdefender engineers by choosing one of the contact channels listed here:

    State your contact reason / choose request category, then choose from the available contact channels, chat, phone and email/ticket. Chat would be the fastest way to reach them.

  • Just a quick follow up here, does this happen on Windows, or macOS? And did you take any specific actions after you noticed that the VPN was reinstalled? This information would also prove useful to the Support teams and they may require some logs from the device, additionally. Let us know how it goes and if the engineers could correct this behavior.

  • This is an issue I've had for years, it's a known malware incorporated in the bitdefender total security software, I had to write a batch file to run at startup to uninstall it.

    Bitdefender devs claim it's something they cannot resolve. They won't resolve it at it bugs people each time it's installed to get them to use it, and if people use it they might buy it.

    There's a logic behind its initial installment. All customers who use one of the Bitdefender security suites also benefit from 200 Mb/day of free VPN encrypted traffic, therefore the package needs to install the app so the customer can utilize the full functionality of the product they chose. Of course, all Bitdefender apps are easily removable via standard platform specific mechanisms (eg for Windows, go to Programs & Features), however, in the event the VPN keeps reinstalling itself, that's another story and back in 2024 when I last commented on this thread I've asked for more information and mentioned that logs may be required from the device where this happens, so the Support teams can pinpoint the root cause. For example, does this happen after a product update, or any other action? Now, I'm not exactly sure how you came to the conclusion that this is a bug, and it could be so, and if it is, surely there has to be a way to solve it. Did you raise a ticket for the Support teams and if yes, what did they advise?
